I had a bit of a breakthrough last night. I did 7 miles on the dreadmill, as Speedo Steve calls it, which is nothing special by itself. The plan was to do 3 one mile intervals in the middle at a 9:31 pace with a half mile rest between them. They went well, and I decided to add one more .5 mile interval during my cool down at the end. The best part - for the first time in months I felt GREAT after my run! No pain, not terribly exhausted, just felt good. It gets better though. I'm usually pretty stiff and sore the next day after all my runs, but this morning I feel great!
Of course, I just remembered that I have to run 12 miles on the treadmill on Sunday, so that pretty much ruined my day. Maybe there will be a break in the weather so I can get outside and run sometime soon.
