Wow. 12 days without an update. Sorry about that. Since I've been doing mini-updates via Twitter I kind of forgot to update my real blog.
On the evening of the 9th I ran 7 miles, somewhat simulating my first leg of Ragnar Relay. I figured out it's HARD to run more than 4 miles after eating nothing all day. I'll certainly be focusing on proper nutrition both before and during the relay.
On the morning of the 10th I ran 6 miles after running 7 miles the night before. It was tough, but not as bad as I 'd anticipated. I had planned to do another 4 miler the night of the 10th, but I had to travel to Chicago for work. After arriving at my hotel that evening I just wasn't up to trying to figure out a route in an unfamiliar area so I skipped it.
Ran a very easy 3 miles with Amy on the 14th, and then ran 5.2 miles yesterday. Now I'm pretty much shutting it down until the relay on Friday. May do a couple 2 mile easy runs, but that's it.
I REALLY want to do a sprint tri on September 14th, but my story hasn't changed. I still haven't been on my bike this summer, and my only swimming was the couple of short open water swims I did about 3 weeks ago. Can I get myself ready enough in 4 weeks to take a shot at beating my time from last year? What I should do is register for the race, which would probably be all the motivation I need to do something other than run, run, run.

Number one relay rule? Eat and eat and eat. At some point after your second run, the thought of food will probably make you throw up, so you better hope you have everything in you that you will need for that last one :-)
Nice couple of weeks! Get in a few rides and swims, and you'll be ready for a sprint! DO IT!!
