Amy Trades in the Couch

I posted my slowest 5K time ever today! My excuse is that I ran with my wife for the first 1.3 miles (which really didn't affect my time - it just sounds good). This was her first race ever. She started the Couch to 5K program about 6 weeks ago, and seeing her finish was more important than anything else for me. Even better was that she was less than 3 minutes behind me, which is awesome considering she's had ACL reconstruction done on both knees. I'm very proud of her today. She says she hates running, but she still gets out there and does it, which says a lot about her determination.

This week I need to start getting serious, because I have my first tri coming up in mid September and haven't been in the water yet this summer!

Side stroke is a lifesaver. I heard that water is shallow enough to touch everywhere so I would not be too worried. You can just stand up if need be.
Your wife gets a big thumbs up for her effort. I'm hooked on tri's now and just hired a swim coach. I think I can shave 10 minutes off my time for next year.
Thinking of doing some 10 mile run near you in a couple weeks. I forget what the event is called.
