It's been two weeks since the half marathon, and whoever told me it takes about 1 day per mile to recover was right! I finally feel like I'm back to 100% (including a little nagging pain in my right knee, but that was there before the half marathon).
Here's what's been going on the last 2 weeks. I ran 4 times for a total of 8.8 miles. I've been progressively improving my pace up to tonight, when I ran 2 miles at a 9:26 pace - my fastest so far this season. I'd say I'm ready to get back into a training plan. The only problem is that I haven't figured out what my next race or my next major accomplishment will be, so for now I'll be running 3X/week and trying to work in more intervals since I really didn't do many last time and I really need to work on my speed. Tonight I decided to throw in 3 fast quarters and felt pretty good about them.
After running 2 miles tonight, I'd like to get at least 7 more miles in this week, so that's what I'll be shooting for. I'll probably increase my mileage by about 10%/week and see how that goes for a while.
Oh, and I should also mention that my wife, Amy, decided to start running, which is amazing because she's had both knees reconstructed due to blown ACLs. She's following the Couch to 5K program and is really liking it so far. She's even got her eye on a 5K race in mid-July! Good for her!

Wow for AMy. Tha's great. See, this exercise stuff is contagious!!! You know that for a fact!
Did my first Tri yesterday and it was great to be back in the swing. I struggled on the run some because I have my body trained to g"go slow" maybe. not sure, Anyway, my time was only off a minute from last season so I was pretty happy.
Keep up the running Collin! I'm so glad you guys are staying active.
