My training is going well. I'm 8 weeks from the marathon and my long runs the last 3 weeks have been 14, 14 and 16. The first 14 miler was hell. Last week's 14 miler went great, and today's 16 miler also went well. The recent runs might have been the brand new shoes (Brooks Beast) that replaced a pair of Brooks Adrenalines with nearly 500 miles on them. I'll never put that many miles on a pair of shoes again.
I will admit that I had a hell of a time getting myself motivated to run today, and then once I started, I had a hell of a time keeping myself motivated to continue. But, as always, I did it and logged another 3+ hours on the dreadmill. Yay me!
I'm ready to get outside and run, as I've logged 271 miles since 11/7/07, all on the treadmill. Believe me when I tell you that running 3+ hours on a treadmill is NOT FUN! I've logged 199 miles since the first of the year, and I logged 86 of them in March. That's 18 miles more than I ran last May, which was the month of my first half marathon and the most miles I had logged in a calendar month until this month.
