Time Off

My left knee hurt so badly during my easy 2 mile run on Tuesday that I've decided to skip my 7 mile intervals tonight and probably my 8 mile long run on Sunday so I can give it some rest before going into the final 6 weeks of my training. Also, since week 12 is an easy week with only three 4 mile runs scheduled, I may take next week off too (week 11), only cross training on the bike, and then I'll have 5 solid weeks to get ready for race day plus Crazylegs on Saturday 4/28 (in place of my Sunday 4 miler).

I suppose I should see a doctor too. I've been trying so hard to avoid that...

Hey, I took time off for the sciatic nerve problems I WAS having and I'm really glad I did. No more pain (knock on wood). I also did not get in the 7 mile interval workout this week but am hoping to attempt the 8 miler tomorrow. I have a Duathlon in 2 weeks so I also wanted to ride that route tomorrow. I'm not really sure how to work all of the training out yet. I need bike time and swim time as much as the run time. But I really need the distance work badly. We'll see how things go. TAKE THE TIME OFF!! Your body is telling you to take it. Jon's having some knee pain as well and ices EVERY NIGHT wether or not he runs. Good luck Bro. I keep reminding myself that the I really just want to finish the half. I'm not racing...
